Vladimir Grigorov known as Sandal Wood, saw light for a first time in Sofia, Bulgaria . Over the last few years, travelling trough Europe , also because of the studies in South Germany and South Sweden , was the main line, shaping his live and experiences. Nowadays, being active as a dj and promoter in the scene has become not only a hobby, but a way of living and at the same time a realization of a dream. He is totally devoted to the selection of tunes, always searching for the most innovative and driving sounds, always striving to improve his mixing skills and to recreate through the sets whole stories of emotional landscapes touching the boundaries between body and mind.
As organizer, he formed together in 2003 with his friend Ani a project called Solros (the name comes from Swedish and means sunflower) under which they made some parties like Temple of Imagination and Celestial Journey and co-organized events, among which the Bulgarian edition of the Global Festival for Peace Earthdance, started in 2003 together with Magrathea. After helping for many years for their events, in 2005 Sandal Wood joined Magrathea, which stands not only for the major trance promoter in Bulgaria, but also a platform to express different nuances in contemporary music and art while sharing at the same time great friendship. Within Magrathgea he is responsible mainly for the international bookings as well as all the other organizational stuff.
Over the last few years Sandal Wood has played at most of the major trance events in Bulgaria and has several international gigs like in Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia
His music palette is quite rich, amalgamating these days many influences from different styles like progressive trance& house, electro, breakbeat, techno, techhouse, melted together in a psychedelic framework. It is a fusion of pumping grooves, tribal percussions, deep bass lines and hypnotic synths.
Endlessly grateful to Ani, the person I owe the most beautiful moments in my life. You will always be in my heart, rest in peace and smile & dance forever, wherever you are, love ya!
